About Shelby Hufft

Shelby Hufft grew up in Indiana where she fell in love with horses.  At that time she took advantage of every opportunity to work with and around all breeds of horses. Later she moved to Califormia, raised a family and in many ways put her love of horses on the back burner, so to speak, but never gave up on her desire to own horses and work with them.

Later in her life she was introduced to Missouri Fox Trotting Horses and fell in love with this beautiful and desirable breed.  She bought her first fox trotter and while learning about the breed met Jim Hufft from Missouri who had gone to California to instruct those new to the breed in riding and training Missouri Fox Trotters. Later they would be married.

One of her most beloved of fox trotters  was Miss Claremore pictured to the right. Miss Claremore was out of Jack's Sensation and was a sister to Jack's Image.  In 1991 Shelby rode Miss Claremore to place 2nd in the 1991 Ava Celebration Ladies 3 Year Old Mares. This was a good year since it was also the year and Celebration in which Jack won the Ladies senior Stallions and Geldings class and took second in the Ladies Championship.  Image took 4th in the Ladies 2 Year Stallions and Geldings. Miss Claremore past on this last year.

Today Shelby Hufft stands Jack's Sensation, who has thrown offspring desirable for all interests of Missouri Fox Trotter enthusiasts from pleasure riders, endurance and versatility riders, to show enthusiasts interested in both Model and Performance.
